How to prepare for your first lash appointment

So you’ve booked your very first appointment with us and now you’re wondering how to prepare for your first lash appointment and what is involved. Well here are some tips to make your appointment run smoothly and to get the most out of your time with us so that you leave our salon refreshed, and of course, with Bellissimo Lashes.

1

Look at our work.

Once you’ve secured your appointment you should check out our Instagram, if you haven’t already. This is the best place to see our latest work and will help you to get an idea of the sets we offer and what you would like. We encourage you to bring photos/screen shots so we can discuss options and preferences during your consultation.

2

Organise a babysitter.

Arrange for someone to look after your child/children if you would usually have them with you at your appointment time as neither you nor we will be able to monitor them during your treatment. We reserve 2 hours for your full set appointment and your eyes will be closed throughout this time while we will be concentrating on giving you the best eyelash extensions we can. Children become bored very quickly and can be a distraction.

3

Avoid caffeine.

Avoid caffeine before your appointment. This can make your eyes twitch and/or move rapidly when your eyes are closed during your appointment. This can make it tricky for us to separate your natural lashes ready to apply the extensions. This will slow down your appointment and can also mean that we are not able to apply as many lashes as we would have been able to.

4

Arrive on time.

At your first appointment we have some paperwork to complete. Then we begin your consultation where we discuss the lashes you’d like, what will suit you and what to expect during your appointment. If you are late to your appointment then this process will take time away from your lash treatment. We are unable to extend your appointment time into our allocated cleaning time as this will then impact our next appointment.

5

Remove eye makeup prior to appointment.

Mascara, particularly waterproof mascara, will be engrained in your natural lashes. It is important that this is completely removed prior to us applying your new lash extensions, otherwise the mascara residue left on your lashes will reduce the retention of your new eyelash extensions meaning a refill will be required sooner.

6

Bring your earbuds to your appointment.

You are more than welcome to listen to some music while you relax and enjoy your treatment. Or why not be super-efficient and listen to that podcast or audiobook that you’ve not been getting around to.

7

Turn your phone onto silent mode.

We can pretty much guarantee that if you’re waiting for a call or a message it will happen while you’re trying to relax at your lash appointment. It happens all the time. Answering a call impacts your appointment and our progress so treat us like you have gone for a massage and turn your phone onto silent mode and go off grid for a short time.

8

Relax and enjoy your appointment.

Many people actually have a nap while we work our magic and are surprised at just how gentle we are.

Well, that may seem like a lot of words but it’s ultimately just a short list of a few points. But first things first, if you haven’t already, book your appointment. Or if you have any questions please do not hesitate to give us a call.
